Privacy Policy

NuCoord ("we," "us," or "our") operates the NuConnect mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide

We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the App, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, or otherwise contact us. The personal information we collect may include:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number (optional), password

  • Profile Information: Professional title, company name, industry, professional bio, profile photo (optional)

  • User Content: Messages sent through our chat feature, connection requests, and any other content you create or share on the App

Information Automatically Collected

When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage patterns:

  • Device Information: Device ID, operating system version, device type

  • Usage Data: Match rooms browsed, connections made, chat activity, time spent in the App, features used

  • Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes, and performance data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service: Creating and managing your account, enabling you to browse match rooms, connect with other professionals, and chat with your connections

  • To improve our App: Analyzing usage patterns to enhance user experience, add new features, and fix bugs

  • To communicate with you: Sending push notifications about new connection requests, messages, and match room reminders; responding to your support inquiries

  • To ensure safety and security: Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and security incidents; enforcing our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines

  • To comply with legal obligations: Responding to legal requests and preventing harm

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

With Other Users

Your profile information (name, photo, title, company, bio) is visible to other users in match rooms you join. Your messages are shared with the specific users you connect and chat with.

Service Providers

We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as:

  • Cloud hosting providers (to store data)

  • Push notification services (to send notifications)

  • Email service providers (to send support communications)

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., court orders, subpoenas).

Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on our App of any change in ownership or uses of your personal information.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS

  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest

  • Regular security audits and monitoring

  • Access controls limiting who can access your data

However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access and Portability

You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@nuconnect.app. We will provide your data in a structured, commonly used format.

Correction

You can update your profile information directly in the App at any time.

Deletion

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data. To delete your account:

  1. Open the NuConnect App

  2. Go to Settings or Profile

  3. Select "Delete Account"

  4. Confirm deletion

Once you delete your account, all your personal data (profile information, messages, connections, photos) will be permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. Certain data may be retained in backup systems for an additional 60 days for disaster recovery purposes, after which it will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.

Exception: We may retain certain information if required by law (e.g., for tax records, legal compliance, or to resolve disputes), but such data will be anonymized and not linked to your identity.

Opt-Out of Communications

You can opt out of push notifications by adjusting your device settings. You can opt out of email communications by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email we send you.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specifically:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active

  • Messages: Retained until you delete your account or individual messages

  • Connection History: Retained until you delete your account

  • Usage Logs: Retained for 90 days for security and debugging purposes

After account deletion:

  • Active database: Data deleted within 30 days

  • Backup systems: Data removed within 90 days total

  • Exception: Data required for legal compliance may be retained in anonymized form

We will retain and use your information as necessary to:

  • Comply with our legal obligations

  • Resolve disputes

  • Enforce our agreements

  • Prevent fraud and abuse

7. Children's Privacy

Our App is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@nuconnect.app.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information from our servers within 24 hours.

For users in the European Economic Area: Our App is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including personal information, to the United States and process it there.

9. Third-Party Services

Sign in with Apple

If you choose to sign in using Sign in with Apple, Apple will provide us with:

  • Apple ID User Identifier: A unique identifier for your account

  • Name: Your name (if you choose to share it)

  • Email Address: Either your actual email or a private relay email address (if you choose "Hide My Email")

Important notes about Sign in with Apple:

  • We do NOT receive your Apple password

  • If you use "Hide My Email," Apple creates a unique private email address that forwards to your real email

  • You can manage your Sign in with Apple preferences in your Apple ID settings

  • This information is used solely for authentication and account creation

  • You can revoke NuConnect's access to your Apple ID at any time through your Apple ID settings

Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page

  • Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy

  • Sending you a notification through the App or via email

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.

11. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: You can request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you

  • Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information

  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights

12. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data

  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can request restriction of processing of your personal data

  • Right to Data Portability: You can request transfer of your data to another service

  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You can withdraw consent at any time
